Give Firefox 3 some Chrome on Linux!

By Ed Taekema in Asus eee, Web Tools on September 4th, 2008

Lamentably, Google hasn’t released their new browser beta for linux yet.  This is too bad, since it appears to be an interesting fit with my Asus eee 900 with its challenged screen size.  Chrome definitely uses the screen real estate to its best advantage.  For us impatient types, there is a solution.  Someone has figured out how to tweak Firefox via settings and plugins to resemble Chrome.

One of the small features of Chrome that I like is how it opens a new tab right next to the one you are in.  This makes it much easier to find the thing.  To get the same behavior in Firefox, use Tab Control and that adds that and a few other cool features.
