Say Goodbye to Errno 5 – Install Ubuntu on Asus eee 900

By Ed Taekema in Asus eee on September 23rd, 2008

Errno 5 was the bane of my existance.  Every variation I tried to install the live cd version of Ubuntu 8.04 or eeeBuntu ended in an errno 5 report somewhere during the install … and always a different spot.  So I gave up … until now.  The new release of ubuntu-eee (8.04.1) installed on my 16 Gig SD card without a hitch!  Finally. (Of course I quickly scooted back to Xandros – the default OS – to write this report … It just boots way faster.)  More on my adventures with Ubuntu-eee in the days to come.
